xcrystaltear: No, I am not one of those who upload pixiv art on tumblr without permission. Yes, I am ashamed of doing this right now. But asdfghjkl, this picture ;;A;; Everything involving the novels makes me cry. And this one… wow, so many feelings. This part was so tragic, and the artist drew it absolutely beautifully. So this is the end of the second novel, after Queen shielded Machina from Lulusath warrior’s attack. Machina holds her, Ace holds her hands, and there are also Nine and Seven, but I haven’t read the full novel, so I am yet to know what they said/did. I did a sort-of analysis slash translation of this scene on another blog of mine, so copypasting for everyone now: [[MORE]] ========== Queen was injured while protecting Machina, because she told him that they [the twelve original Class Zero members] are special in that even if they die, they can be revived because their souls still live on. Thus, it would be okay if she died since she could always be revived later. But what she didn’t know was that this death would be different for whatever reason, and so she realises too late that this is a death she won’t be coming back from: (summarised because Japanese literature is hard to translate orz.) “E…… Everyone…… you defeated the Lulusath warriors……?” “Yeah, we did it! And no one died!” [Machina] “Really, thank goodness…… then the only one who has to die is me……” “Hold on, Queen! Don’t be so weak! Even if our bodies die, our souls won’t die isn’t that right!? So even if ya die, one day ya gonna be revi—” [Nine] “No, I know this now…… this is different…… I will die like a regular person, and I will not be reborn this time……” “I’m going to die, right……? I will disappear…… from everyone’s memories……?” [at this point, Ace grabs her hand and tries to soothe her with his voice] “There’s no way we’ll forget. We’ve been together all this time for 10 years.” [Ace] [she says some stuff about how it will be the crystal’s doing and she’s going to disappear anyway, I think] “……I finally understand……. death is, something as lonely as this……!” [MY HEART IS BREAKING AS I READ THIS BECAUSE YOU CAN REALLY SENSE THE FEAR IN HER WORDS] Tears had started to pool in her eyes, rolling down her cheek into a puddle of blood. Tears continued to fall as she spoke in a shaky voice. “I’m scared……! I’m scared…… disappearing from someone’s memories……!” “Queen……!” Machina called her name, as Ace looked down without saying anything and gripped her hand tightly. The boys gritted their teeth as they watched her, while tears had begun to form in the girls’ eyes. Deuce, Cinque, Cater, and even Seven and Sice. With everyone supporting her, Queen smiled weakly. “Everyone……. please, survive…… this fight.” WIth those last words, her neck dropped.
